Good to know in the USA
- Which providers serve you depends on your exact address, not just the city. Check availability on each provider's site before signing a lease if possible.
- Most plans have no contract but advertised prices usually need autopay and paperless billing; expect about $10/month more without them.
- Cable promos (e.g. Spectrum) jump after 12 months; Verizon, Xfinity and T-Mobile instead offer multi-year price guarantees.
- Providers may run a credit check (SSN helps); without US credit history you may be asked for a deposit. 5G home internet is self-installed, so it works fastest.
Prices checked 11 Oct 2026. Prices are before state/local sales tax and regulatory fees, which vary by city (except Visible and US Mobile, which include taxes). Providers change prices and offers often, and not every plan is sold at every address, so check on the provider’s site before you sign up. We don’t take commission and no provider pays to be listed. How this calculator works
- Tell it how many people live with you and how you use the internet: it suggests the speed you need
- Choose a contract length and your city, as providers differ by area
- It works out what each plan really costs over 12 or 24 months, including set-up fees and any cheap first months, and puts the cheapest plan that’s fast enough first
- Every plan links to the provider’s own page, with the date we checked the price
