Car accident
- Stop, turn on hazard lights, check for injuries.
- Injuries: call 999 (police) or 998 (ambulance).
- Minor, no injuries: report it in the Dubai Police app, then move off the road if told to.
- Garages need a police report before insurance repairs.
Fire at home
- Get everyone out. Do not use the lift.
- Call 997 (fire).
- Tell your building security.
- Photograph damage for your landlord and insurer.
Medical emergency
- Call 998 (ambulance), or go to the nearest emergency department.
- Take your Emirates ID and insurance card.
- Save your insurer’s helpline in your phone now.
Flooding and storms
- Follow official alerts on your phone.
- Do not drive through standing water.
- Move your car to higher ground if you can.
Lost passport
- Report it to the police and get a report.
- Contact the British Embassy for an emergency travel document or replacement.
- Then transfer your residence visa to the new passport.
Losing your job
- Your employer cancels your visa.
- Check your grace period to find work or leave.
